Very good

I used to use a standard bowl with the flattest bottom possible. This Izuna bowl is beautiful and elegant. It's just what I needed for my chasen and for preparing my daily matcha. The slight grooves also serve as markers for my water quantity. My matcha is now even better because it is better whisked. Very satisfied with this purchase, which arrived quickly. Solid packaging.

Aesthetics

A sleek design, very smooth to the touch and surprisingly light given its fineness. This white bowl, combined with the beautiful colour of matcha tea, is a feast for the eyes and very pleasant to hold. A little everyday pleasure.

Practical and excellent quality

Practical with its grooves, ideal for measuring the water level, and its wide bottom for whisking matcha.
Dishwasher safe or easy to wash by hand.

A traditional and unique bowl

The Izuna bowl is a chawan in porcelain, faithful to Japanese traditions. Each piece is deliberately imperfect: in the art of tea in Japan, imperfection is celebrated as a reflecting authenticity and
uniqueness
No two bowls are alike. Its flat bottom makes it particularly practical for whisking matcha with a chasen (bamboo whisk).

A small-batch product produced in batches of only 40 to 50 copies, this is a rare item which reflects the wabi-sabi philosophy: beauty, simplicity, and uniqueness.

Strengths

  • Clean design inspired by Japanese nature
  • Striking contrast between the white of the bowl and the jade green of the matcha
  • Traditional porcelain chawan, made for the tea ceremony
  • Each piece is unique, celebrating wabi-sabi imperfection.
  • Flat bottom for easier matcha preparation
  • Limited edition of 40-50 copies per model

Izuna: the elegance of a Japanese chawan

Inspired by theizuna, this little Japanese weasel that dons a white coat in winter, this bowl reflects the beauty of simplicity and contrast.

Its sleek design and immaculate whiteness highlight the intense green of the matcha, creating a striking visual effect and a deeply Zen tasting experience.

Every sip becomes a moment of calm and contemplation.

The complete Izuna kit: a refined and advantageous gift

For an authentic experience, the Izuna complete kit includes the Izuna white porcelain bowl, accompanied by its whisk holder, a ceramic whisk holder designed to preserve the shape and lifespan of your chasen (bamboo whisk).
You will also find a 30 g box of organic premium matcha tea, carefully selected for its exceptional quality and refined taste, as well as a bamboo accessory set Essential for preparing matcha: chasen and chashaku (bamboo scoop).

This gift box, designed to offer a complete ritual, is a elegant gift, both for yourself and for a loved one. By choosing this kit, you also benefit from a 15% discount compared to purchasing each item separately.

Preparing matcha with a traditional chawan bowl

  • Pour one to two matcha scoops into a chawan bowl, then add a little cold water.
  • Whisk with a bamboo whisk until you obtain a fine, smooth froth.
  • Add hot water at around 70 degrees (caution: do not use boiling water).

L'aventure Kumiko Matcha
