For 10 years, my mission has been to help you discover now best organic matcha teas from Japan, hojicha has its place because it is actually a type of matcha 😉🍵

The difference is that it is roasted : the tea leaves are picked and then follow the same process as matcha tea: steaming, cooling, and then drying. Once the leaves are completely dry, they are roasted.

Why is the price so affordable?

It costs €59 per 100g, which is an ultra-competitive price and an economical format. The leaves that are going to be roasted do not need to be of the same good quality as grand cru matcha, so leaves from a second or third harvest can be used.

So it's a virtuous circle: our partner farmers can get more value out of their second harvests thanks to this hojicha.. This allows them to sell multiple products, make the most of their harvests, and continue to produce super high-quality matcha.

As with matcha, there are different grades of hojicha. I am very happy to offer a good quality hojicha, produced by a cooperative of high quality matcha producers.. I chose it for the flavor it adds to a hojicha latte.
