A matcha to celebrate our Kumiko story

Shukusai (祝祭) in Japanese means celebration, festival. It describes a joyful and festive event. 


Shukusai organic matcha is therefore a celebration matcha, perfect for a moment with loved ones or to celebrate an achievement. Because if, like me, you are a fan of matcha, the idea of toasting with this Shukusai matcha is even more exciting than with champagne. 

We created organic Shukusai matcha to mark Kumiko Matcha's 11th anniversary, to celebrate this milestone and to thank you. We slipped into this exclusive design details we love: 

  • The label on the lid features motifs of the granite mills used to grind tea leaves.
  • The name of the matcha is represented in kanjis on the box.
  • Elements are printed in a shiny silver colour. 
  • A special note is written on the back of the box 😉

Comment le thé matcha est-il récolté ?

This year, 2024, marks an expansion of the Kumiko Matcha team. Thanks to you, our story that I started alone has been able to grow year after year, and I can now surround myself with other matcha tea enthusiasts and build a team with the brand's philosophy and values.

The box visuals, graphics, and name were designed and chosen together. During brainstorming sessions, everyone contributed their vision and opinion, and the visuals and colours were edited, replaced, and adjusted to achieve this final result. A team effort 💪🏼

Tasting

You can prepare a matcha tea with 1 to 3 grams of matcha powder for a “delicate” preparation (usucha in Japanese) by mixing the matcha powder in a bowl with 80mL of water at 80°C.

Or you can also try a “thick” preparation (koicha) to experience the full aroma of this organic matcha Shukusai, with 3 to 5 grams of matcha for 20-30mL of hot water.
