I discovered matcha tea when I was living in Shanghai. I quickly adopted the relaxing ritual of preparing matcha every morning, which is similar to the practice of meditation.
But when I returned to France, I noticed that it was very difficult to find high-quality Japanese matcha tea. So I decided to create Kumiko Matcha: a brand of matcha from Japan that is 100% organic and respectful of the environment and our health.
To create our selection of high quality organic matcha teas, I personally met with each farmer and visited their farms. Enthusiasts about their craft and equipped with extensive expertise, each one offers a unique matcha tea with its own character and flavor.
The challenge of producing high-quality matcha within the rules of organic farming is considerable, which makes the labour of our artisan farmers partners all the more exceptional. Through their commitment, they are helping to make tea more environmentally friendly.
