review initiative = trees planted 🌳: the 2020 results

One of my missions with Kumiko Matcha is to be a force for good in the world and at my scale represent the change I want to see.

To be aligned with this will and include our community in this mission, we celebrate the importance of community opinions with our opinion initiative 🍵 = trees planted 🌳

For this I have chosen to support PUR Project founded by Tristan Lecomte in 2008 to fight against climate change and deforestation.

1 opinion = 1 € to Pur Projet🍵🌳

For each opinion we give € 1 to PUR Projet to participate in the planting of trees in their reforestation projects.

The opinions taken into account for this initiative are those published on the site kumikomatcha.fr by our customers verified (it is necessary to have made a real order on the site) and validated according to our criteria of honest and respectful opinions.

What does this mean to you? For every product of every order at Kumiko Matcha you have the possibility to offer your opinion to the community and at the same time to participate in planting a tree.

 "See community reviews"

In 2020 we repeated our "anti Black Friday" operation in order topromote more conscious end-of-year shopping. During this event which launches the end-of-year gifting season, we therefore donated 10% of our sales to our partner. Pure Project.

Thanks to everyone, the Kumiko Matcha community planted 192 trees in 2020 🍵🌳✊

Concretely where are these trees planted and what are they used for? 🌳

The project we are supporting is a pioneering agroforestry and reforestation project in the Peruvian Amazon.

The region of San Martín was heavily deforested in the 1980s, when Peru experienced a sharp increase in the illicit cultivation of coca and the Amazon regions were ruled by drug trafficking. As a result, the soil and ecosystem quality have decreased in an area previously recognized as a hotspot for biodiversity.

In this context, local cooperatives have been created to develop alternative crops. Cooperatives bring together families of small producers fair trade and organic cocoa which plant trees according to forest models on degraded and unused land, as well as on cultivated plots where they develop agroforestry practices.

The project also develops the tree planting in the Amazonas region, who was confronted with a high deforestation due to the extension of cattle ranching.

The goal is not only to plant trees, it is in addition to empowering local communities to protect these forests by combining them with their agricultural activity: it is agroforestry - a model of harmonybetween forest and agriculture, nature and humans.

If you want to learn more, I share with you the full PDF report that Pur Projet sent us on this operation in Peru.

The full report is in English and even if you do not understand this language well I invite you to take a look for discover the wonderful photos of fauna and florae that you help to preserve by supporting Kumiko Matcha and PUR Projet 🙏 🍵

I have one last point for today:

Reviews of our Kumiko products mean a lot to me. I read them all, I'm so happy and proud to receive them, and they are super important for the survival of my small business because they are an expression of the satisfaction of our community.

For a lot other companies today, the opinions left by their customers on the internet are super important: from the largest to the smallest ecommerce site, we all receive requests for reviews after making a purchase.

This is what he is for possible to create a virtuous circle between the customer, the company, and nature with this type of initiative.

But today hardly anyone practices this idea with reviews on the internet.

So why not spread this practice! I wrote a little script that you can use to respond to future requests for advice that you receive by email:

"Thank you for your request for advice. I am approaching this company (Kumiko Matcha) which offers 1 € for 1 opinion, to a social and environmental cause. I suggest you do the same. What do you think ?"

Maybe thanks to you that this regenerative practice can pollinate itself ... 🤓

Thank you for being part of the community 🙏 💚 🍵
